Overland flow slope length and slope length for lower eroding portion of slope
Slope length for upper eroding portion of slope
The slope length to where
deposition begins can be used to compute soil loss on the upper eroding
portion of slope.
However, the slope length
for the lower eroding portion does not begin where deposition ends because of
where runoff originates that flows across the lower portion.
The entire slope length must
be used to compute soil loss on the lower portion of slope.
